Easy Aloo Paratha for Bachelors & Beginners
Servings - 3 to 4
Ingredients For Paratha Dough:
2 cups whole wheat flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups water or as required
For the Potato Stuffing:
600-800 g potatoes, boiled and mashed
1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
1/2 tbsp garam masala
Salt to taste
1/4 cup coriander, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
Oil
Method:
In a pot or pressure cooker, add water and the potatoes.
Cook the potatoes until they are soft and fully cooked.
Once done, peel and mash them thoroughly.
Add cumin seeds, garam masala, salt, chopped coriander, and green chillies to the mashed potatoes.
Mix everything well and allow the stuffing to cool completely.
In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth, soft dough.
Cover and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
Roll out each ball slightly, place a spoonful of potato filling in the centre, and seal the edges.
Gently roll it out into a paratha, dusting with flour as needed.
Heat a tawa (griddle) and cook the paratha on both sides with a little oil or ghee until golden and crisp.
Serve hot with curd, pickle, or butter.
