Goat Masala | South Indian Goat Curry | Mutton Curry Restaurant Style Recipe

Ingredients :


  • 500g Goat Meat or Lamb

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 1 large onion (Finely chopped)

  • 3 green chillies (+4 Whole Green Chillies)

  • 2 medium tomatoes

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder

  • ¼ tsp pepper powder

  • 2 - 3 tbsp curry powder

  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

  • Salt to taste

  • 1/4 cup water (More if needed)

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • Coriander leaves


Method:


  1. In a large pot, heat oil and add the onion, sauté for a minute.

  2. Then add green chillies and sauté, now add the tomatoes and sauté for a minute.

  3. Furthermore, add ginger-garlic paste and stir well, add turmeric powder, pepper powder, curry powder, garam masala, and salt.

  4. Stir well and cook on medium-low heat for a minute or until tomatoes are soft.

  5. Now, add in the goat and mix well then add water.

  6. Cover and allow the goat to cook on medium-high heat for 25 to 35 minutes or until the lamb turns soft.

  7. Now add the whole green chillies, lemon juice and coriander leaves.

  8. Mix well, cook for a minute and serve hot with fresh bread or rice.
