Soft Dough & Easy Steps - Delicious Chicken Stuffed Buns Recipe

Ingredients:
For the dough:
11/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 tablespoon instant yeast
150 ml lukewarm water
2 teaspoons oil
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
For the chicken filling:
200g minced chicken
1 tablespoon oil
1-2 teaspoons garlic, minced
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon chilli flakes
2 tablespoons mint
Salt to taste
Method:
Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl.
Gradually add the lukewarm to the dry ingredients.
Mix until a dough forms. Coat the dough with 2 teaspoons of oil.
Cover the dough and rest it for 1 hour.
While the dough is rising, prepare the chicken filling.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and toast until golden.
Next, add onion and sauté until soft and translucent or cook for 2-3 minutes.
Now, add tomato paste, chilli flakes, mint and stir well.
Add the chicken and salt to the skillet. Cook the chicken for 2 minutes.
Next, cover and cook the chicken until well-coated with the spices and cooked well.
Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
Once the dough has doubled, punch it to release the air and divide it into equal-sized balls.
Take a dough ball and flatten it into a small disc.
Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the centre.
Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a bun shape.
Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
Place the stuffed buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each bun.
Cover them with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes, or you can bake them immediately.
Brush the risen buns with beaten egg for a shiny finish. Bake the stuffed buns at 180°C for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top and cooked through. Serve the chicken stuffed buns warm, and enjoy!
