Andhra Style Green Chilli Chicken

Ingredients:


  • 1 kg Chicken

  • 1 ½ litter Buttermilk

  • 3 tbsp Oil or 2 tbsp Ghee

  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds

  • ½ cup Curry Leaves

  • 3 Green Chilies

  • Method:

  • Wash the chicken, add buttermilk, cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  • Ingredients for marination:

  • 1 Onion

  • 2 Inch Ginger

  • 8 to 10 Garlic Cloves

  • 8 to 10 Green Chillies

  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

  • 1 tsp Garam Masala

  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice

  • ½ tsp Chilli Powder

  • 1/2 cup Coriander

  • Salt to taste


Method:


  1. Grind all the above ingredients into a fine paste keep that aside.

  2. After 2 hours drain the buttermilk from the chicken.

  3. Add in the green paste, mix well and marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

  4. Heat the pan add oil or ghee (optional) and add the marinated chicken.

  5. Cover & cook the chicken for 10 to 15 minutes or until it's done and keep that aside.

  6. Heat oil or ghee in a pan add cumin, curry leaves, and green chillies, saute.

  7. Then add cooked chicken mix well and serve hot.
